The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a new initiative for the academic session 2025–26. A special registration portal has been launched for Children With Special Needs (CWSN) students who will appear in the Class 10 and 12 board exams. The registration process will begin from September 9, 2025, through the Pariksha Sangam portal on the official CBSE website.

This move ensures that students with disabilities are given proper recognition, facilities, and exam support as per CBSE guidelines.

🔑 Why This Matters for Students

For many years, CWSN students faced difficulties during exam registration due to paperwork and lack of clear instructions. With this portal:

  • Registration becomes simpler and more transparent

  • Schools can upload details digitally without errors

  • Students will automatically be eligible for relaxations, extra time, or scribes as per CBSE rules

📌 Who Can Apply?

Students studying in Class 10 (and 12) under CBSE who fall under the following categories can register via this new portal:

  • Visual impairment (low vision, blindness)

  • Hearing impairment (deaf, hard of hearing)

  • Locomotor disability (movement-related issues)

  • Dyslexia and other learning disabilities

  • Autism spectrum disorder

  • Other certified medical conditions approved under CBSE’s guidelines

📅 Important Dates

  • Portal opens: September 9, 2025

  • Mode of registration: Online via school through Pariksha Sangam portal

  • Deadline: Schools must complete registration within the official CBSE window (dates to be announced soon)

📖 Benefits for Students

By registering as a CWSN student, you may receive:

  • Extra time during exams (generally 1 hour for a 3-hour paper)

  • Permission to use a scribe or computer in certain cases

  • Relaxation in choosing subjects

  • Flexibility in internal assessments and practical exams

  • Separate question papers or modified formats for some disabilities

📝 How to Register

  1. Contact your school administration and inform them about your eligibility under CWSN.

  2. Provide valid medical certificates/documents as proof.

  3. School authorities will fill in details on the CBSE Pariksha Sangam portal.

  4. Confirm that your admit card mentions CWSN category, ensuring exam center support.

⚠️ Important Reminders for Students

  • Keep medical documents updated and scanned copies ready.

  • Cross-check the spelling of your name, subjects, and disability status before final submission.

  • Inform your school if you require specific facilities like a scribe, extra time, or seating arrangements.

💡 Quick Student Tip

👉 Don’t feel hesitant to apply under CWSN. These facilities are your rights, not favors. They are meant to ensure fair competition so every student gets a level playing field.
